Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: meso- comb. form, gastric adj.
Etymology: < meso- comb. form + gastric adj.; in sense 1 after mesogaster n., mesogastrium n. In sense 3 after French mésogastrique (A. Velpeau Traité d'anatomie chirurgicale (1826) II. 19).
1. Anatomy and Zoology. Of or relating to the mesogastrium (sense 1). Obsolete. rare.Apparently defined as a noun in quot. 1843.
