Etymology: < Hellenistic Greek μηκωνο- (see meconology n.) + -phagism comb. form. Compare meconophagist n. N.E.D. (1906) gives the pronunciation as (mīkŏnǫ·fădʒiz'm) /miːkəˈnɒfədʒɪz(ə)m/.
Medicine. Obsolete.
