1. A North American herbaceous plant, Podophyllum peltatum (family Berberidaceae), with a solitary waxy flower which appears in May. Also: the yellowish, egg-shaped fruit of this plant (which appears in September). Also called duck's foot, hog apple, wild lemon, mandrake. Now U.S.
