单词 massacote
释义

massacoten.

Origin: Probably a borrowing from Spanish. Etymon: Spanish mazacote.
Etymology: Probably < Spanish mazacote a fused mass (1495; attested only from 1843 in specific sense ‘barilla’), further etymology uncertain: the Spanish word has been variously connected with either Italian marzacotto marzacotto n. or French massicot massicot n., or with both, although the considerable semantic differences between the three words present difficulties.
Obsolete. rare.
= barilla n. 2a.
