Origin: Either (i) a borrowing from French. Or (ii) formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: French mariable ; marry v., -able suffix.
Etymology: Either < Old French mariable (late 12th cent.), or directly < its elements marry v. + -able suffix.
Now rare.
