1. A native or inhabitant of Marwar, a region in the state of Rajasthan in north-western India.By historical association of trade, the term is often understood to denote a merchant banker or moneylender of Mumbai (formerly Bombay), many of whom are in fact Jains and not necessarily ethnic Marwaris.
