Origin: A borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Etymons: Latin mangōn- , mangō , -ize suffix.
Etymology: < classical Latin mangōn-, mangō (see mango n.2) + -ize suffix. Compare post-classical Latin mangonizare to deal dishonestly, furbish for sale (only in glossaries, from the 9th cent.), Middle French mangoniser (1596 in sense 2).
Obsolete. rare.
