Etymology: < Yiddish mandlen, plural of mandl almond (so called with reference to their size and shape) < Middle High German mandel (Old High German mandala : see mandelic adj.).
Cookery.
With plural agreement. Small matzo flour dumplings, usually served with soup, frequently as part of the Passover meal in Jewish households.
