Roughley Fish & Fisheries Austral. 92 In 1947, when a conference of fisheries officials from all Australian States was held to discuss the question of the diversity of the names of fish in the various States, it was decided to adopt the Victorian name of ‘luderick’ for this fish throughout Australia... The luderick is an estuarine fish found in all Australian States, but it occurs in its greatest numbers in New South Wales, southern Queensland, and Victoria.
