Etymology: < classical Latin locuplētāt-, past participial stem of locuplētāre to make wealthy, enrich ( < locuplēs locuplete adj.) + -ive suffix. N.E.D. (1903) gives the pronunciation as (lǫkiuplī·tătiv) /lɒkjuːˈpliːtətɪv/.
