Chiefly in Little Vehicle (or Lesser Vehicle) (see Hinayana n.), Great Vehicle (or Greater Vehicle) (see Mahayana n.).The two major schools in Buddhism are Mahayana and Theravada (the latter sometimes accepted as synonymous with Hinayana, a term which is considered depreciative), although Vajrayana, which developed from Mahayana, is sometimes considered a third.
