Designating a driver who uses the left lane of a highway or freeway not just for overtaking but for driving at a steady speed at or below the speed limit with the result of impeding traffic flow, as left-lane bandit, left-lane driver, left-lane hog, etc.In quot. 1928 used more broadly to denote a bad driver or 'road hog' of any kind.
