Bot. 431 We have here ‘common’ bundles [of Phanerogams], each of which has one arm that ascends and bends out into the leaf, and another which descends and runs down into the stem; the latter is called by Hanstein the ‘inner leaf-trace’ [Ger. innere Blattspur]. 1910 Bot. Gaz. 50 413 A forking leaf trace and even a large leaf blade may occur in the lycopsid series. 2001 Ann.
