2. Scots Law (historical in later use). A law which stipulates that any deeds granted by a gravely ill person within sixty days of his or her death, and which prejudice the legal heir, can be invalidated; (also) the state or claim of being an heir prejudiced in this way. Esp. in law of deathbed.
