Etymology: < the name of J. B. O. Landry (1826–65), French physician, who described the condition in 1859 ( Gaz. hebd. de Méd. et de Chir. 6 472).
Pathology.
Landry's paralysis n. (also Landry's disease) any acute ascending paralysis, spec. = Guillain–Barré syndrome at Guillain–Barré n.
