A collective term for: those forms of Mahayana Buddhism in which lamas play a significant role, such as those practised in Tibet and Mongolia.Now generally avoided in academic contexts due to the implication that these forms of Buddhism constitute a separate belief system.In quot. 2009 in a historical context.
