1995 Sunday Times (Nexis) 19 Feb. When the advertising agency Collett Dickenson Pearce compiled a marketing study called A Portrait of Lads, it found that 550,000 of the 2m young adults who fitted the criteria of being single, drinking more than eight pints a week, and having laddish attitudes, were female. So, is there a new generation of ladettes, or faux-blokes?

2001 Scotsman (Electronic ed.) 6 Jan. The TV and radio presenter was undoubtedly the archetypal ladette, single-handedly taking bad-girl behaviour to hitherto unimagined heights.
