Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: kitchen n.1, physic n.
Etymology: < kitchen n.1 + physic n.In the form kitchen physics with remodelling of the second element after physics n., probably as a result of the relevant sense of physic n. becoming increasing archaic during the 20th cent. Compare also the spelling kitchen physick, in which the spelling of the second element reflects use as a conscious archaism.
