Etymology: < classical Latin labiōn-, labiō (only attested in a citation in a 4th-cent. grammarian), also post-classical Latin labeon-, labeo (4th cent.) person who has large lips < labea , labia (a form showing reanalysis as feminine singular noun of labia , plural of labium labium n.) + (see -oon suffix).With post-classical Latin labeo compare the classical Latin cognomen Labeō.
