Etymology: < labile adj. + -ize suffix, probably after e.g. stabilize v. Compare earlier labilized adj. Compare also earlier labilization n.Compare German labilisieren (1914 or earlier in the specific use in chemistry and biochemistry; end of the 19th cent. or earlier in general sense ‘to make weaker’).
