Mineralogy.

A black, prismatic, hydrated multiple oxide of formula close to AB₂(O,OH)₆ (where A represents mainly yttrium, iron, and uranium and B represents mainly titanium, zirconium, hafnium, niobium, and tantalum), but with much less (Nb,Ta)₂O₅ than minerals of the euxenite-polycrase series and more TiO₂.
