Origin: Formed within English, by clipping or shortening. Etymon: Korean adj.
Etymology: < K- (in Korean adj.). In K-wave (compare quot. 2006 ) perhaps shortened directly < Korean wave n. at Korean adj. and n. Compounds.Formations are found from the end of the 20th cent. (earliest in K-pop n.).
Forming nouns relating to South Korea and its (popular) culture, as K-beauty, K-culture, K-food, K-style, etc. Recorded earliest in K-pop n. See also K-drama n.
