释义 | kibbutzn. A collective settlement in the state of Israel (before 1948, Palestine), owned communally by its members, and organized on cooperative principles. Cf. kvutza n.Kibbutzim were originally agricultural settlements, but have since diversified into other economic areas. The first kibbutz, Kibbutz Degania, was established in the Jordan Valley in 1910 by Jewish immigrants from Europe.In early use denoting an association of people rather than a physical settlement.
