Etymology: < German judenrein (1901 or earlier) < Juden- , combining form of Jude Jew (see Judeish adj.) + rein pure (Middle High German reine , Old High German reini ; ultimately < the same Indo-European base as ancient Greek κρίνειν to decide: see crisis n.).
