Etymology: < Latin jūbilāre, originally to halloo or call to any one (‘jubilare est rustica voce inclamare’ Festus), to shout, huzza; in Christian writers, especially to shout for joy; compare Old French jubler, French jubiler, German jubeln, Dutch jubelen, to jubilate.
Obsolete. rare.
