John Crow nose n. (also John Crow's nose) a Caribbean plant, Scybalium jamaicense (family Balanophoraceae), which is a parasite of tree roots and bears bright red flowers thought to resemble the head and beak of a turkey vulture (see main sense).Also called Jim Crow's nose.
