单词 job lot
释义

job lotn.

Brit. /ˌdʒɒb ˈlɒt/, U.S. /ˈdʒɑb ˈlɑt/
Origin: Apparently formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: job n.2, lot n.
Etymology: Apparently < job n.2 + lot n., although apparently influenced in sense by jobbing n.2 1 and jobber n.2 2 (compare also job v.2); job n.2 7 is first attested later and is apparently modelled on this compound.
A miscellaneous set of goods bought together (frequently cheaply and with a view to selling them on separately at a profit). Also in extended use: a motley assortment.
