Etymology: apparently < inch n.1 + pin n.1 I.; but perhaps (in sense 1) a popular corruption of some other word.
Obsolete.
1. A name among huntsmen for the sweetbread of a deer. But by some explained as ‘the lower gut’, or otherwise: see quots.
