Etymology: < post-classical Latin impersuasibilis (from 11th cent. in British and continental sources) < classical Latin im- im- prefix2 + persuāsibilis persuasible adj. Compare earlier persuasible adj. and slightly later unpersuasible adj.Compare Middle French, French impersuasible not open to persuasion (late 15th cent.; apparently rare between the early 16th and early 19th centuries), of which no one can be persuaded (late 16th cent.).
Unable to be persuaded; not open to persuasion; of fixed opinion, obstinate. Cf. impersuadable adj.
