Origin: Apparently formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: ignore v., -able suffix.
Etymology: Apparently < ignore v. + -able suffix.Compare classical Latin ignōrābilis unknown, in post-classical Latin also unknowable (early 3rd cent. in Tertullian), and also Old French, Middle French, French ignorable not having knowledge or experience (c1300), that which can be ignored (mid 18th cent.).
