1950 E. A. Kaczka et al. in Science 29 Sept. 355 The name cobalamin designates all the vitamin B12 molecule except the cyano group, and..vitamin B12 becomes cyano-cobalamin, and vitamin B12a, hydroxo-cobalamin.
1961 Lancet 26 Aug. 483/1 For the treatment of pernicious anæmia hydroxocobalamin appears to be equal in activity to cyanocobalamin and is better retained.
1970 Times 24 Jan. 7/3 The condition can be successfully treated by injection of hydroxocobalamin, a special form of vitamin B12.
