1908 Knopf & Schaller in Amer. Jrnl. Sci. 175 323 Examination of this deposit showed that an unknown mineral..was present in considerable abundance. We propose for it the name hulsite, in honor of Mr. Alfred Hulse Brooks, geologist in charge of the Division of Alaskan Mineral Resources.
1954 Amer. Mineralogist 39 524 X-ray powder photographs of ludwigite, paigeite, pinakiolite, hulsite, warwickite, sussexite, and camsellite were taken.
