Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: astro- comb. form, -blast comb. form.
Etymology: < astro- comb. form (see astro- comb. form 2) + -blast comb. form. In sense 2 after German Astroblast (1895 or earlier).
Histology.
1. A type of star-shaped cell (not identified); (perhaps) a bone cell (cf. astrocyte n. 1). Obsolete. rare.
