In this use Your Majesty is a formal substitute for the pronoun you, and His (also Her) Majesty (abbreviated H.M.) may be either prefixed to such designations as the King, the Queen, Queen Elizabeth II, etc., or substituted for them; so, in later use, Their Majesties, when more than one royal person is meant.
