单词 graphene
释义

graphenen.

Brit. /ˈɡrafiːn/, U.S. /ˈɡræˌfin/
Origin: Formed within English, by compounding. Etymons: graphite n., -ene comb. form.
Etymology: < graph- (in graphite n.) + -ene comb. form.
Chemistry.
An allotropic form of carbon consisting of sheets one atom thick, with atoms arranged in a two-dimensional hexagonal lattice. Frequently attributive.Originally the name graphene was applied to such sheets constituting a basic structural element of graphite, fullerenes, and carbon nanotubes. Individual sheets of graphene were first demonstrably isolated by Andre Geim and Kostya Novoselov in 2004, by repeatedly stripping layers from graphite. Graphene is a very strong material and a good conductor of electricity and heat.
