Etymology: < good n. + -less suffix. With sense A. 1 compare Old High German guotilōser (noun) wicked person. With sense A. 2 compare Middle Dutch guedeloos, Middle Low German gōtlōs, early modern German gutlos (c1400), all in sense ‘having no property or possessions’.
Now rare.
