Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with English elements. Etymons: geo- comb. form, Greek ὁμαλός , -ic suffix.
Etymology: < geo- comb. form + ancient Greek ὁμαλός level, even (see homalographic adj.) + -ic suffix. Compare later geomalism n., geomaly n. N.E.D. (1898) gives the pronunciation as (dʒīˌomæ·lik) /dʒiːəʊˈmælɪk/.
Biology. Obsolete. rare.
Relating to or exhibiting a tendency to grow symmetrically in a lateral or horizontal plane. Cf. geomalism n.
