1. Originally: a bank account whose holder has died or forgotten its existence. In later use chiefly: a bank account set up anonymously, or under a false identity, for the purpose of conducting illegal transactions.

a. A user account on a network, system, or website that remains active after the user has ceased to access it, typically following the user's death, or his or her departure from an organization.
