Biology.
Originally: a complete haploid set of chromosomes (of an organism, species, or gamete). Later also: the complete set of genes of an organism, species, organelle, etc.The Human Genome Project, an international endeavour to chart and study the DNA sequence of the human species, published its first complete draft in 2003.
