Etymology: < post-classical Latin genesiacus Genesiac adj. + -al suffix1, after Genesiac adj. (which, unlike Latin genesiacus , is attested in the sense ‘of or relating to the biblical book of Genesis’). Compare slightly later Genesitic adj.
