Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French génésiaque.
Etymology: < French génésiaque belonging to the book of Genesis (1834), relating to creation in general (1840) < post-classical Latin genesiacus concerning the manner of birth (c400) < Hellenistic Greek γενεσιακός < ancient Greek γένεσις genesis n. + -ακός -ac suffix. Compare slightly later Genesiacal adj., Genesitic adj.
Now rare.
Of or relating to genesis or origin; spec. = Genesitic adj.
