Etymology: < scientific Latin Gasserianus (1765 in A. B. R. Hirsch Paris quinti nervorum encephali disquisitio anatomica) < the name of Johann Lorentz Gasser (1723–65), Austrian anatomist + classical Latin -iānus -ian suffix.

Designating the trigeminal ganglion, the large sensory ganglion of the trigeminal nerve; of or relating to this ganglion.
