Origin: A borrowing from Dutch. Etymon: Dutch gabber.
Etymology: < Dutch gabber (1991 denoting the type of music, earliest in gabberhouse ; 1993 denoting a fan of this type of music), perhaps an extended use of Dutch (slang) gabber mate, fellow, lad (see gabba n.1).
1. A harsh, aggressive type of house music originating in Rotterdam, characterized by an extremely fast dance beat.Recorded earliest in gabba stomp at Compounds.
