单词 froise
释义

froisefraisen.

/frɔɪz//freɪz/
Forms: Middle English–1600s froyse, froyze, Middle English froys, 1600s frois, ( froyes), phrayes, 1600s–1800s froize, Middle English– froise, 1700s– fraise.
Etymology: The twofold spelling with ai , oi would seem to point to a French etymon, Old French *freis , *freise , representing popular Latin *frĭxum , *frĭxa , variant of frīxum , frīxa , past participle neuter and feminine of frīgĕre to fry v.1; but the word has not been found.
A kind of pancake or omelette, often containing slices of bacon.
