Origin: Either (i) a borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Or (ii) formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: Latin anthropopathicus , -al suffix1; anthropopathy n., -ical suffix.
Etymology: Either < post-classical Latin anthropopathicus (see anthropopathic adj.) + -al suffix1 or < anthropopathy n. + -ical suffix.
Obsolete.
Based on, involving, or characterized by the attribution of human emotions, feelings, etc., to something other than a human being, esp. to God; anthropopathic.
