Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with English elements. Perhaps also partly formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: anthropo- comb. form, Greek νόμος , -ical suffix; anthroponomy n., -ical suffix.
Etymology: < anthropo- comb. form + ancient Greek νόμος law (see nomos n.) + -ical suffix; compare later anthroponomy n. In later use perhaps re-formed < anthroponomy n. + -ical suffix.
Obsolete. rare.
Concerned with the principles underlying human behaviour; of or relating to anthroponomy.
