Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French fléchette.
Etymology: < French fléchette small arrow, dart (1825 or earlier denoting a game played outside using a target), dart-shaped steel projectile dropped from an aircraft (1914 or earlier) < flèche arrow (see flèche n.) + -ette -ette suffix.
1. In singular and plural. An outdoor game in which each player throws small darts at a mounted circular board. Now rare.
