Etymology: Apparently short for < Andrew Ferrara, the name of a make of Scottish sword blades of the 16th and 17th cents. (see etymological note at Andrew n.). Compare earlier Andrew n. 2.
Obsolete. rare.
A broadsword; more fully, an ‘Andrea Ferrara’. Cf. Andrew n. 2.
