Etymology: < Yiddish farkakte, inflected (attributive) form of farkakt covered in excrement, (in extended use) inferior, very bad, messed up (compare crappy adj., shitty adj.), use as adjective of past participle of farkakn to defecate on (something) < far- ( < Middle High German ver- for- prefix1) + kakn to defecate ( < German kacken cack v.).Compare German slang verkackt (end of the 19th cent. or earlier, although rare before the late 20th cent.), in the same senses. Specific forms. Forms in ver- show remodelling of the prefix after German ver- for- prefix1. The β. forms reflect the uninflected (predicative) form of the Yiddish etymon.
