Chauvenet Detours Oct. 6 We hereby protest against the un-euphonious word ‘fanag’, and announce our intention to plug fanzine as the best short form of ‘fan-magazine’. An alternative formation fanmag is occasionally attested from 1937.
Originally Science Fiction.
A magazine produced non-professionally for a particular community of fans. Cf. prozine n.Originally with reference specifically to such magazines produced for science fiction fans.
